Boot Barn

Project Introduction

Boot Barn is the world’s largest retailer of Western wear, specializing in cowboy boots, hats, shirts, and more. To optimize order picking and fulfillment operations at a new 450,000-square-foot facility in Kansas City, Missouri, the rapidly expanding company — fueled by booming revenue and over 400 stores — embraced advanced goods-to-person automation. This strategic move aims to support in-store replenishment and ensure a seamless omnichannel customer experience, with goals of reducing labor costs and increasing throughput. The solution was to integrate the HaiPick Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS).

Our Solution

Boot Barn’s HaiPick System, featuring 34-foot high, fully automated storage, doubles the storage density compared to the company’s California distribution center. With an impressive throughput of 460 totes per hour and 100% picking accuracy, this system is now a cornerstone of operations in Kansas City.

  • 2x storage density
  • 460 totes/hour throughput
  • 100% picking accuracy
  • Dispatch 500,000 units per week
  • Reduce 50% labor
  • 250% increase in efficiency
