Project Introduction

John Lewis, which operates under the John Lewis Partnership, one of the UK’s leading department store retailers. Since 1864, the brand has been recognized for its commitment to exceptional customer service and a diverse selection of high-quality products, always evolving to meet customer needs.

In response to the rapid growth of its online sales, John Lewis acquired the 1,000,000 sq. ft. Fenny Lock warehouse in Milton Keynes, in close proximity to JL’s leading DC at Magna Park. This facility underwent significant upgrades to meet JL’s evolving distribution needs. Logistex, a trusted warehouse systems integrator, was appointed by JL to design and integrate an automated warehouse for e-commerce fulfilment. Logistex awarded Hai Robotics a contract to supply and install a robotic solution as part of the overall solution.

Our Solution

With online sales making up around 60% of total turnover, John Lewis sought to expand its warehouse capabilities to support increasing demand. The acquisition of the Fenny Lock facility in Milton Keynes presented an opportunity to enhance efficiency, improve fulfillment speed, and implement a scalable, high-volume automation solution that could seamlessly integrate with existing operations while allowing for future growth.
